This one-day course is geared toward users of Smart View with Hyperion Financial Management. First is an overview of the HFM dimensionality. Then comes Smart View itself, starting with reviewing the user options/preferences and using shared and private connections and why each are needed.
Next are the main areas of Smart View, starting with functions. Functions are built using hardcoded members and relative and absolute cell references. Then come the other functions of Smart View: HFM forms (data entry), ad hoc analysis (drilldowns, pivoting, point of view selection, etc.), and the newest feature in Smart View, HFM journals (managing and creating).
Last comes integrating financial reports with Microsoft Office documents and working with data points to integrate HFM data beyond Microsoft Excel.
The topics in the manual take about half of the class time. The remaining half is used for case studies and challenges to provide opportunities for students to practice with the features, ask questions, etc.
This class is taught on our training application using our Cloud environment, but for private classes can easily be adapted to conduct it on a client’s application.
